Listen to “Frog…Secret Agent” on 3legtorso.com.

3 Leg Torso prove that they have a sense of humor to go with exceptional musical gifts. They do this through the song, “Frog…Secret Agent” (from the album Astor In Paris). Amazingly, though the song has no lyrics, you will recognize the frog’s plight as a secret agent immediately. Wearily, the frog ribbits. Silently, he leaps. And toward the end we understand his life is in grave danger, more grave in each moment! Until at last…the end.

Listen to “Iron Man” here.

Yes, Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” does translate well to jazz, so long as the translation is done by The Bad Plus. This version of the song (from the album Give) adds layers of sophistication without losing an ounce of power. It is a one-stage rocket equipped with a cuisinart. The stand-up bass and piano convey every bit as much tension as the original, but so, so much more heart. This song is the definition of youthful rebellion enhanced by dangerous wisdom.
